Driveway/Garage



This is an audio description of a home in Lower Waialae Iki with many bedrooms and many views from all of the rooms. 


Looking up at 1422 Laamia Street from Laamia Street, the home is freshly painted in a dark green with cream trim. There are lauae fern wood railings and a trellis overhanging a deep lanai on the right of the home. The home makes an impressive first impression that portrays a Hawaiian craftsman style. The front door is a lightly stained natural wood with a glass front. The driveway of 1422 Laamia Street is a slightly steep slope. If you walk up the driveway, there are stairs on the right of the paved, upslope driveway that has no railing to the left and a lava rock wall that is shoulder height on the right. When you get to the end of the stairs, you will feel a smooth painted garage door in front of you. There is a keypad on the right of the garage door. To the left of the keypad, there is another stairway leading up to the front door. This stairway has a railing that you can follow on the left. 


Inside the garage, you will feel a freshly painted flooring with ample space. About three feet in from the garage door on the left is a doorway that leads to a stairway that will take you up to the kitchen.

Front Entrance



Upon opening the front door, there is a lush lava rock and tropical fern garden outside to the right behind the glass wall. The entrance has slate flooring and to the right is Brazilian Cherry hardwood stairs leading up to the living room of the home. This stairway is short with a railing on the left. At the top of the stairs, looking right is a beautiful view of the backyard pool and to the right is a beautiful view of the ocean. In front of you is an intricate Japanese style wood room partition. Behind the partition is the stairway that leads down to the garage.

Living Room



Leading up to the living room from the entrance of the home there are two stairs. The floors continue in Brazilian Cherry. There are lightly stained Pella sliding glass doors to the front of the right of you that lead to a deep lanai framed in lauae fern wood railings. Above the lanai to the right of you is a cream trellis. The view from this room is vast and you can see all the way from Koko Head to the back of Diamond Head. The ocean view is large and sparkling. On the left and right of the living room are matching intricate wood Japanese room partitions.

Kitchen



Turning around from the living room, take the two steps down on your right and the kitchen is in front of you. To the left is another Pella sliding glass door that leads to the side yard with an orchid garden view. The kitchen has cream shaker cabinets with silver bucket pull handles on the drawers and silver knobs on the cabinets. There is a gold and grey speckled granite countertop. The kitchen is in a U-shape with a large island in the center. To the left of the island is an electric cooktop. On the right side of the U of the kitchen is a deep ceramic farmhouse kitchen sink. At the back of the U of the kitchen is a walk in pantry and a sub zero refrigerator. The back of the right side of the U of the kitchen is a GE Monogram stacking oven and microwave combination. The left side of the kitchen is a wine fridge and a bar top height countertop with barstools facing the inside of the U of the kitchen. When standing at the cooktop, there is an ocean view to your left and a view of the backyard pool to your right.

Guest Room #1



Facing the entrance of the home with your back to the barstools of the kitchen, the first guest room is behind you to the right. There are two stairs leading up to the ensuite room. After taking the two stairs, turn to your left and you will enter the bedroom. Directly on your right is a bathroom with a walk in shower, toilet and sink. The walk in shower is at the back of the room with the sink and toilet being on your right. There is no enclosure for this shower. On the left is deep floor to ceiling storage cabinets. Walking back out to the bedroom, there is another deep floor to ceiling storage cabinet. The flooring of the bathroom is a neutral ceramic tile. Also on the left wall of the bedroom is another lightly stained sliding glass door leading to the backyard pool. The current owner has a bed on the far right wall facing the pool view. This room has a split AC conditioner. The back wall has a large window overlooking the side yard lava rock wall. This room is painted a very light yellow and the floors are engineered hardwood. The sliding door closing off the ensuite bedroom is painted periwinkle blue.

Guest Room #2



Walking back to the kitchen and main entrance of the home there is a hallway leading to the second guest bedroom. To the right of this hallway is a large sliding glass door leading to the backyard pool. The second guest room is on the left of the hallway. Upon walking into this room, there is a large sliding glass door overlooking Laamia Street and the ocean beyond. This room also has a split AC condenser. The entire right wall of the room has white painted wood shutter style closet doors. Laamia Street is not a main roadway on Waialae Iki Ridge so the room is very quiet. The room is painted a neutral but warm white and the floors are Brazilian Cherry.

Guest Bathroom



At the back of the hallway leading from the kitchen and main entrance to the home is a guest bathroom that has a sink, toilet and walk in shower. The flooring in this bathroom is slate. When you first walk in, there is floor to ceiling shelving storage to the left and right of you. Past the storage on the right is a cabinet sink with Chinese painting on the cabinet portion. At the back of the room is the toilet with a window above and to the right of the toilet is the walk in shower framed in slate with a mini square slate shower floor. This shower is closed off by a shower curtain.

Master Bedroom



Walking back down the hallway to the kitchen and main entrance to the home, turn towards the backyard and walk to your left. There is an L shaped staircase in a cherry stained engineered hardwood tops and white painted bases. This stairway is wide and has a railing to the left of you. When you reach the top of the staircase, there is a small landing with windows showcasing the ocean view to the front of right of you. To the left are white french doors leading to the master bedroom. There is a large sliding glass door leading to a deep lanai with a deep overhang protecting you from the sun. The current owners have large chaise lounges on this lanai overlooking the ocean and Diamond Head view. The King sized bed faces the lanai and view. Turning left from the french door entrance of the room is a short hallway with a huge walk in closet to your right. As you reach the end of the short hallway, there is a small office space with windows above and to the right of the desk. To the right at the end of the hallway is the master bathroom. This room has cherry stained engineered hardwood floors and a cream paint color on the walls.

Master Bathroom



The master bathroom has a long hallway shape. On your immediate left is a large walk in shower with a tiny square ceramic tile flooring. The walls of the shower are a neutral colored large square ceramic tile. On your right is a long countertop with the same cabinets and granite countertop as the kitchen. There are two sinks with a large mirror above. There is plenty of under countertop storage. Beyond the shower on the left of the bathroom is a large claw footed bathtub with a window facing the backyard at the top of the wall allowing airflow while still maintaining privacy. At the end of the hallway bathroom is a separate toilet room with a floor to ceiling closet. This toilet room also has a window facing the side yard at the top of the wall allowing airflow while still maintaining privacy. The flooring is square ceramic tile and the walls are painted a neutral creme color.

Backyard and Pool



The backyard of of the home has a large light blue rectangular shaped pool parallel to the back of the home. This pool goes from being three feet deep to being eight feet deep. When you walk out the wood sliding glass doors, on the left is a large slate patio area with a four seat table and a small outdoor sofa with one outdoor accent chair. Beyond the pool is a steep, terraced yard that leads up to a cinderblock retaining wall that is owned and maintained by the neighbors above. The property line goes up to the retaining wall. This terraced yard has a ground cover that doesn't require any maintenance. There is outdoor lighting that highlights the landscaping consisting of tropical ferns and flowers. To the left of the pool is a small grassy area. To the right of the pool are two steps leading to a short white wood gate that leads to the side yard and pool equipment. The backyard has a sonos sound system that allows the owner to play music throughout the whole backyard while swimming in the pool.
